GNDEC holds convocation for batches of 2024 and 2025

Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), Gill Park, held its annual convocation for the batches of 2025 and 2024 on December 5 and 6, respectively.

The ceremony on December 5 was presided over by S Harjinder Singh Dhami, president, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Nankana Sahib Education Trust. Dr Susheel Mittal, Vice-Chancellor, IKG Punjab Technical University, who was the chief guest, delivered a convocation address. He congratulated students and urged them to strengthen their communication skills, embrace learning, and develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills. Guests of honour S Randeep Singh Sekhon, CTO, Airtel, and Dr Sarabjot Singh Anand, MD, Sabudh Foundation and CEO, TATRAS, motivated students to uphold strong moral principles and make positive contributions to society. As many as 569 degrees were awarded to the 2025 batch across the PhD, MTech, MBA, MCA, BCA, and BTech programmes and 28 gold and silver medals were also distributed.

S Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Trustee, Nankana Sahib Education Trust, presided over the ceremony for the 2024 batch held on December 6. S Prabhjot Singh, IAS, director General, Technical Education, Haryana, was the chief guest. In his address, he emphasised the importance of adaptability, continual upskilling and global awareness in a rapidly evolving world. The guests of honour were Dr Paramjit Singh, Controller of Examinations, IKGPTU, and Dr Gurpreet Kaur, AGM, VolvoLine Cummins. They encouraged the batches to remain committed to their values throughout their professional journeys. The 2024 batch saw 527 degrees conferred upon students from the MTech, MBA, MCA and BTech programmes. As many as 26 gold and silver medals were also presented.

On both days, principal Dr Sehijpal Singh presented the annual report, highlighting GNDEC’s advancements in research, academic excellence, infrastructure and its students’ achievements. S Iqbal Singh, director, Nankana Sahib Education Trust, encouraged students to stay connected to their alma mater as proud ambassadors of the institution.
