Union leaders, including Surinder Kumar Puari, Charan Singh Sarabha, Sukhjinder Singh Khanpur, Parveen Kumar and Tehel Singh, said the teachers were left with no other option but to gather outside the Education Minister’s house against the government’s “anti-teacher” policies.

The teachers said they sent several memorandums to the Minister and the government, but to no avail. Due to the lackadaisical approach of the government, the teachers decided to hold a state-level rally on December 1.
