The Har Har Mahadev Shivratri Mahotsav Committee organised a procession in the city on Sunday to mark the celebration of Shivratri. The procession, which was attended by thousands of devotees, began at the Durga Mata Mandir in Jagraon and featured a decorated chariot carrying an idol of Lord Shiva. Devotees danced and chanted slogans in praise of Lord Shiva, creating a festive atmosphere.

The procession was flagged off by Sanjay Bansal of the Warring Group and Councillor Raj Sharma. It passed through various markets, including Fountain Chowk, Ghumar Mandi Chowk, and Arti Chowk, before culminating at the Shiv Mandir in Sarabha Nagar.

Prominent attendees included prominent BJP leaders Jatinder Mittal and Rajnesh Dhiman, and chairman of the Shiv Ratri Mahotsav Committee Sunil Mehra. Mahant Narayan Puri, a spiritual leader, emphasised the importance of such events in promoting spirituality and cultural awareness among the youth.

The procession featured various cultural events, including a sankirtan performance by the Har Har Mahadev Mahila Sankirtan Mandal. Devotees also offered prayers and performed aarti at various points along the procession’s route.
