Gurleen Kaur, Anmoldeep Kaur and Harleen Kaur emerged emerged the fastest runners in 100m sprint in the girls’ U-17, 21 and 21-30 years categories, respectively, in the ongoing district-level games of third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with assistance from the district administration at different venues across the district on Monday

In the girls’ U-17 section, Chandni Kumari came out triumphant in 1,500m race and Ananntjot Kaur won the first spot in U-21 group.

In long jump (girls U-14), Prabhnoor Kaur of Issru secured the first position, Khushi Tyagi fetched the top position in 60m race and in shot put event, Ekampreet Kaur emerged winner.

In shot put (girls U-17), Jassman Kaur proved too good for her opponents and clinched the gold and in the long jump event, Khushpreet Kaur secured the first position.

In the girls U-21 section, Veerpal Kaur (400m race), Divnoor Kaur (shot put), Simranjot Kaur (long jump) and in the 21-30 years category, Kirandeep Kaur in 400m race and Harleen Kaur secured the first position in long jump event.

In kho-kho (girls U17), Guru Nanak Public School, Bassian village won the first position while Coaching Centre, Sohian and Shifali International School finished as first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the girls’ U-14 (football), Pakhowal beat Samrala 2-1, Khanna B team beat municipal corporation 3-0, Jagraon A team beat Machhiwara 5-4, Dehlon beat Doraha 3-0, Khanna A team beat Pakhowal B team 2-1 and Pakhowal A team beat Khanna B team 2-0.

In handball (girls U-14), PAU, Ludhiana, beat Government High School, Jawaddi; GAD Academy beat Spring Bell School and BVM, Kithclu Nagar, beat BVM Club.
