Mandi Ahmedgarh, August 25

Keeping in view the implications of the Covid-induced lockdown, the district administration has launched a process for online enrollment of jobseekers and prospective employers.

The progress of the movement will facilitate the success of district-wise statewide ‘rozgar melas’ scheduled to be held in last week of September.

The District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise has established a helpline — 9877918167 — for assisting the unemployed youngsters to get themselves registered for the mela.

Sangrur District Employment Generation and Training Officer Gurtej Singh said the Punjab Government had launched the ‘ghar ghar rozgar’ portal for helping the youngsters to register themselves for seeking jobs without visiting any office. Information about vacancies of various kinds at various places received from prospective employers of the region will also be uploaded on the portal.

“While the details of mega job fairs to be organised in the state from September 24 to September 30 will be finalised after receiving instructions from Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Ramvir, we have established a helpline (9877918167) for facilitating jobseekers to register online for the purpose,” said Gurtej Singh maintaining that registration would remain open from August 28 to September 15. Helpline would be operational from 9 am to 5 pm on all working days, said Singh.
