Eyewitnesses said three miscreants were nabbed while a few members of the gang were absconding. The suspects were active in the market for the past three days. They got dryfruits packed from shopkeepers and at the time of billing, they told the latter that they were GST officials. On Wednesday, when the suspects approached a shopkeeper, the latter asked a government official about their identity and came to know that they were fraudsters. Following which, they were caught and beaten up by shopkeepers before being handed over to the police.
