During raids in different areas of the city, the police have seized drugs from drug peddlers and taken them in their custody. In the first incident, Suraj was arrested by the Jamalpur police under the NDPS Act with 500 gm of opium from him. The suspect is a resident of Khasi Kalan village.

In another incident, Police Division 8 seized 15 kg of marijuana from Ram Chander, a resident of Kundanpuri. On a tip-off, the police at a naka near Upkar Nagar arrested Chander with 15 kg of marijuana. He used to sell and purchase drugs.

The police also arrested Rehemdin Khan, alias Babbu, who resides near Payal, here, and seized 82 kg of codeine and 600 gm of opium from his custody. The Dehlon police have registered a case against him under Sections 15, 18, 61and 85 of the NDPS Act and a car (bearing registration number PB10JD5345) was also seized from the man.
