The tehbazaari wing of the Municipal Corporation (MC) took action against an illegal vegetable market, being run on a service lane near the Phullanwal Chowk here on Friday.

It was removed by a joint team of tehbazaari inspectors and staff of all four zones of the civic body in the presence of the police force. Around 15 vends/kiosks were removed and confiscated during the drive against temporary encroachments.

Superintendent Ashwani Kumar said the action against the illegal market was taken on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal. Around 15 vends/kiosks were removed and warning had also been issued to street vendors.
