ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, marked the 79th Independence Day with pride and patriotic fervour.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the national flag by Dean Inder Pawar, followed by a parade by the guards. In his address, the Dean highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ through education, skill and healthcare, and invoked Dr BR Ambedkar’s ideals of social justice.

Medical Superintendent Dr Aparajita Sophia D’Souza reminded that true freedom meant liberation from ignorance, disease and inequality, and every patient healed with dignity strengthened the nation. Chief guest Rajni Bector inspired all with her journey, urging to learn daily, give one’s best, and remember that impossible was just a word.

Cultural performances, children’s fancy dress as freedom fighters and the felicitation of support staff added heartfelt moments.
