Industrialists support flood-hit villages under ‘Chardi Kala’ initiative

Ludhiana’s industrial community has once again stepped forward to assist flood-affected villages, donating generously to the Punjab Government’s Chardi Kala initiative.

The Minister for Industries, Punjab, Sanjeev Arora, said he had personally appealed to industrialists to support efforts to rebuild the state.

Arora noted that his own NGO, Krishna Pran Cancer Charitable Trust, had donated Rs 50 lakh for the rehabilitation of flood-hit villagers.

Industrialists from Ludhiana who have donated under Chardi Kala include Happy Forging (Rs 1 crore), Monte Carlo Group (Rs 1 crore), Krishna-Pran Cancer Charitable Trust (Rs 50 lakh), Vardhman Group (Rs 50 lakh), Octave Apparel (Rs 50 lakh), Ceigall India Ltd (Rs 50 lakh), G B Reality (Rs 25 lakh), Cremica Foods (Rs 20 lakh), Arisudana Spinning Mills (Rs 20 lakh), Rockman Foundation (Rs 10 lakh) and Ganga Acrowool (Rs 15 lakh).

In addition, the Sonalika Group of Hoshiarpur has contributed Rs 50 lakh in cash, Rs 2 crore for 12 fully equipped ambulances to the Punjab Health Systems Corporation and tractors worth Rs 2 crore, bringing its total contribution to Rs 4.5 crore. All donations have been made to the CM’s Rangla Punjab Fund.
