As many as 70 sleuths of the Income Tax department conducted raids at Dr Sofat’s clinics here on Wednesday.

Many vehicles and police were spotted outside the clinic in the morning.  The IT teams scrutinised all tax records and are raiding residences and hospitals of the family.

Dr Sofat is a leading gynaecologist in Ludhiana.  Sources in the department said the raid started early on Wednesday morning and would carry on for two-three days.

A huge amount of money has been seized during the raids, say sources.
