Judges, lawyers celebrate Lohri with fervour

The District Bar Association (DBA) Ludhiana, under the leadership of its president-cum-Vice-Chairman Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana Chetan Verma, celebrated Lohri in association with the local judiciary. The event, marked by traditional festivities, was graced by Sessions Judge Harpreet Kaur Randhawa, who was the chief guest at the event. Speaking on the occasion, Sessions Judge Randhawa said, “Festivals like Lohri are an integral part of our culture, and they bring people together, fostering a sense of unity and joy. Such celebrations also provide an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the Bar and the Bench.”

DBA president Verma expressed his gratitude to the guests and participants, saying, “This Lohri celebration symbolises our shared traditions and camaraderie. It is heartening to see the active participation of the judiciary, lawyers, and their families, which strengthens the unity of our legal fraternity.”

The event saw lively performances, including songs and couplets by lawyers and their family members, which kept the audience entertained.

The celebration was attended by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Shubham Aggarwal, who commended the DBA for organising the event.

Judicial officers, including ADJ Saru Mehta Kaushik, ADJ Harbans Singh Lekhi, ADJ Sandeep Singh Bajwa, and Civil Judge Senior Division Preeti Sukhija, were also present, adding to the festive spirit of the gathering.

The event underscored the collaborative spirit between the legal fraternity and the judiciary while celebrating cultural heritage.

DBA office-bearers Karnish Gupta, Rajinder Bhandari, Karan Verma, Umesh Garg, Mannat Arora, Paras Sharma, Vanshika, Aanchal, Divya, Harsharan, Shubham, Kamaljit Sharma, and Joga Singh Rahi were among the others present on the occasion.
