Khedan watan punjab Diyan: Kiran, Jaismeen, Muskan secure gold medals in power lifting

Kiran along with Jaismeen Kaur, Muskan Ranjana Gauta, Harleen Kaur, Anmolpreet Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur and Sandeep Rani proved their mettle and secured gold medals in powerlifting in different age categories in the ongoing district-level games of the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with the help of district administration at different venues across the district on Sunday.

At the AS Modern School, Khanna, Kiran of Kishori Lal Jethi Government Secondary School came out winner in the girls’ U-17 group in below 57kg weight category and Jaismeen Kaur of Raipur Bet village emerged winner in below 63kg weight section.

In the girls’ U-21 section, in the below 43kg weight group, Muskan Kaur while Ranjana Gautam secured the first position in below 47kg weight group, Harleen Kaur in below 52 kg weight section, Anmolpreet Kaur in below 57 kg group, Komalpreet Kaur in below 63 kg section and Sandeep Rani in below 73 kg category, emerged victorious to fetch the top honours.

In weightlifting, at Naresh Chander Stadium, Khanna, in the boys’ U-17 section, Yuvraj Singh romped home in below 55 kg category. Other first position holders were Sandeep Singh (below 61 kg), Gurpreet Singh (below 67 kg), Karkitey Puri (below 73 kg), Onkar Singh (below 81 kg), Gurkirat Singh (below 89 kg) and Hasrat Singh (below 96 kg).
