Malwa Hockey Academy of Punjab State Institute of Sports (PIS) emerged champions in the boys U-21 category in the ongoing district-level games of the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan. The competition is being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Punjab Sports and Youth Services with the assistance of district administration at different venues across the district, which concluded on Saturday.

In the final game at Prithipal Singh Astroturf Stadium of the Punjab Agricultural University, Malwa Academy secured the top spot. The winners were followed by Jarkhar Academy in second place and Gurusar Sudhar in third place.

In kho-kho (boys U-21), Coaching Centre, Jawahar Nagar, Ludhiana clinched the top spot. The winners were followed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa School, Khanna and Ramgarhia Senior Secondary School; Miller Ganj finished as the first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the boys’ 21-30 category (kho-kho), Coaching Centre, Jawahar Nagar secured the spot. The winners were followed by the Ghalib Kalan village team in second place.

In table tennis (men 31-40 years), Manpreet Singh, Raghav Jyoti and Tarun Thapa won the top three positions and in the 41-50 years group, Anup Preet Singh clinched the title. Gaurav Uppal secured second place and Manmeet Singh finished in the third spot.

In football (boys U-21), the Gurusar Sudhar ‘A’ team annexed the title, while the Khanna ‘A’ team and the Municipal Corporation ‘A’ team secured second and third positions, respectively.

The state-level games during the Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan will start in the third week of October.
