Kila Raipur Club, Jarkhar Academy storm into hockey tourney semifinals

Kila Raipur Club and Jarkhar Academy entered the semi-finals in the senior and junior sections in the ongoing 15th Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Tournament being organised under floodlights at the astroturf ground by Mata Sahib Kaur Sports and Charitable Trust at Jarkhar village, near here on Ludhiana-Malerkotla road.

In the last league match, Kila Raipur Club defeated Sant Baba Kirpal Das Club, Horan, 7-2 to accumulate 11 points and secure a berth in the last four stage. Sarbjot Singh Joti of the winning side was declared the player of the match.

In another match in the men’s section, Jarkhar Hockey Academy prevailed over Neeta Club of Rampur 7-6 in which Pawanpreet Singh (Jarkhar Academy) was named the player of the match.

In the junior category, Jarkhar Academy beat Kila Raipur Hockey Centre 3-0 to book their place in the semi-final. Dilpreet Singh was adjudged the player of the match while Guru Teg Bahadur Hockey Academy, Chachrari, survived a scare against HTC, Rampur, before coming out victorious 6-5. Parvinder Singh of Chachrari was declared player of the match.
