However, on Monday they categorically told the police that they would not allow the autopsy till the remaining suspects involved in the case were arrested.
Senior police officials continued to convince the family for the entire day but the latter were adamant on their demand. Even some villagers, who were close to the family, said if the family allowed the autopsy, the police would not make efforts to nab the other suspects.
Notably, on Sunday, the Ludhiana rural police had achieved a breakthrough in the murder case and arrested two suspects. The police also recovered a .30 bore countrymade pistol along with two cartridges from them. They were identified as Harpreet Singh, alias Honey, a resident of Rumi village in Jagraon and Gagandeep Singh, alias Gagana, of Kili Chahal in Moga district. Harjobanpreet Singh, alias Kala, brother of Honey, was still at large in the case.
The murder occurred on October 31 in Jagraon in which the suspects had shot dead Tejpal after a scuffle.
