Ludhiana reported 348 cases and eight COVID-19 deaths on Friday, taking the district’s total infections to 34,874.

These include six students and teachers, three healthcare workers, one cop, and 56 patients from out of the district. Among the casualties, one each was reported from Jalandhar and Nawanshahr.

The death toll stands at 1,612, and active cases, including 14 critical patients on ventilator support, touched 1,791. 

However, 27,350 patients have already recovered from the virus in the district.

Despite the district being under night curfew since March 12, it has been reporting 300 fresh cases since the next day.
