Ludhiana Civil Hospital gets advanced transcutaneous bilirubin meter to enhance newborn care

Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Thursday handed over a state-of-the-art transcutaneous bilirubin (TcB) meter to the Civil Hospital, marking a significant advancement in neonatal care.

Jain said, “The TcB meter offers a comfortable and efficient method for monitoring newborns, reducing discomfort and enabling faster diagnosis of jaundice screening. By minimising invasive procedures, the device will improve outcomes for infants .”

Expressing gratitude to IDBI Bank for their sponsorship, Jain emphasised on the importance of such innovative medical equipment in enhancing healthcare delivery.

“This device is a game-changer for neonatal care at the Civil Hospital. It ensures that our newborns receive accurate and pain-free screenings, allowing for timely interventions,” Jain said.

Civil Surgeon Dr Ramandeep Kaur said, “The introduction of the TcB meter will improve childcare. The hospital administration extend their appreciation to the IDBI Bank for supporting this initiative, which will benefit newborns.” — TNS
