Hosts Ludhiana emerged champions in the girls’ section in the 29th Junior Punjab State Softball Championship, held here at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University.

In the final, Ludhiana decimated Bathinda 10-0 to clinch the title. Earlier, in the semi-finals, Ludhiana blanked Jalandhar 14-0 while Bathinda got the better of Gurdaspur 6-3. In the match to decide for the third position, Gurdaspur beat Jalandhar 10-1.

Pran Nath Passi, honorary secretary, Punjab Softball Association, gave away the prizes. Members of the association and those from the district unit including Sukhram Singh, Jugal Kishore, Ranjit Singh, Nirmaljit Kaur, Harjit Singh, Satveer Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, Rustampal Sandhu, Jaspreet Singh, Sachin Thakur and Kamaljit Kaur were also on the occasion.
