Ludhiana eves triumph over hosts Mansa

Ludhiana recorded a win by six wickets against hosts Mansa in the third league match of Group D in the ongoing Punjab State Inter-District Women U-19 One Day Limited Overs Cricket Tournament, played at Mansa, on Tuesday.

The match started late as the outfield was wet due to overnight rain, due to which it was reduced to 20-overs each side.

Batting first, Mansa scored 81 runs for the loss of eight wickets in which Arpan Kaur made 28 runs, Panmeet Kaur Bindra contributed 20 runs and Kamalpreet Kaur chipped in with 13 runs.

For Ludhiana, Moli Gosal, Varsha Rani, Samridhi Saini and Chinmey Jain accounted for one wicket each while four players lost their wickets being run out.

The visitors achieved the target after losing four wickets in 18.4 overs. The highlight of their innings was valuable 37 runs by Divya Rajput. For hosts Mansa, Chuneha Sharma scalped two wickets while Harmeet Kaur and Neeshu secured apiece each. For Ludhiana, it was second victory in three matches and they are placed at the second spot in Group D with eight points while Patiala tops the table with 16 points from four matches.

In the fourth and last league match, scheduled to the played at Barnala on June 19, Ludhiana will take on Barnala.
