Hosts Barnala restricted visitors Ludhiana to 101 runs in the first innings and then scored 184 runs in the fourth and last league match of group D today in the ongoing Punjab State inter-District Senior (Multi-Day) Cricket Tournament for Katoch Shield. The two-day match is being played at Trident Ground, Barnala.

Ludhiana won the toss and opted to bat first. Their innings folded at 101 runs in 30.2 overs. Tikshan Tangri, Jaish Jain and Nehal Wadhera scored 25, 24 and 23 runs, respectively. For Barnala, Rahul Katoch, Pardeep Singh Grewal and Sukhwinder Singh grabbed three wickets each.

Barnala began its reply on a sound note, losing first wicket at the total of 68 runs. Their first innings culminated at 184 runs after 45 overs with the main contributions coming through Pardeep Singh Grewal (45), Parneet Singh (38), Akash Kumar (35) and Havneet Singh (25*).

For Ludhiana, skipper Nehal Wadhera got rid of five batsmen while Ravi Kumar and Yogjit Singh Kalsi claimed two wickets each.
