Ludhiana (W) Bypoll: SAD’s Ghuman seeks blessings before filing papers
Shiromani Akali Dal candidate for the Ludhiana West Assembly byelection, advocate Parupkar Singh Ghuman, began his day in a usual manner — interacting with local residents during his morning walk in a park. During his discussions, he listened to concerns about lack of basic amenities and other pressing issues of the area.
Before filing his nomination papers, Ghuman visited Durga Mata Mandir in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh and Bhagwan Valmiki Mandir in Jawahar Nagar Camp, seeking blessings with his family.
In a unique gesture of humility, the SAD leader drove himself to the Deputy Commissioner’s office to submit his nomination papers like a common man.
Senior leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal including Balwinder Singh Bhunder, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Jathedar Hira Singh Gabria, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib president Pritpal Singh, Ranjit Singh Dhillon, Bhupinder Singh Bhinda, Naresh Dheegan and Gurdeep Singh Leel, accompanied him.
Expressing his gratitude to the party leadership, Ghuman thanked the party high command for entrusting him with the opportunity to contest from Ludhiana West. He also acknowledged unwavering support and love from voters and supporters in the constituency.
During his media interaction, the SAD candidate criticised the AAP government in the state, stating that the castles built on lies and deceit were now starting to collapse. He expressed confidence that this time, the people of Ludhiana West will deliver the verdict in favour of Punjab and Punjabi identity.
He said hardships faced by the people during the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party government over the past three years were no secret. “People of Punjab on Thursday regretted their past decision. The law and order situation in the state is practically non-existent. Punjab is now being controlled from Delhi by those who have spent days and nights behind bars,” Ghuman alleged.
He said the people still remember development works done during the SAD government’s tenure and wish for its return. “With the overwhelming support I am receiving from the public, I am confident that every essential facility will soon reach the people of Ludhiana West, who have long been deprived of the same,” Ghuman said.
Appealing to voters, the SAD leader urged them to think carefully before casting their vote and consider the person who was genuinely committed to the region’s future.
