Ludhiana women, Amritsar men win state basketball championship

Fourteen men’s teams and twelve women’s teams competed for top honours in the three-day tournament.
In the women’s final, Ludhiana defeated Amritsar 4-2 to claim the title, with Nishu, Mamta, Sandeep Pal and Harwinder Kaur each scoring one run. Moga secured third place after overcoming Rupnagar 9-5.
In the men’s final, Amritsar edged past Ludhiana 2-1 to lift the trophy, with Gagandeep and Rohan contributing one run apiece for the winners. Moga bagged the bronze medal after beating Ferozepur 3-1.
Prizes were presented to the winners by Harbir Singh Gill, honorary secretary of the Punjab Baseball Association, and Kamaljit Singh Gill, sarpanch of Gill village. Others present included Sukhdev Singh Aulakh, Sachin Thakur, Baldev Singh, Rajinder Singh and Rani.
