Sanjeev Kumar Jain, the owner of the factory, said at around 3 am, smoke started billowing out of the third storey of the factory where a huge stock of yarn and knitted fabric was stored. As workers were present on the ground floor, they tried to douse the fire but the fire went out of control, after which they informed the fire brigade.

Jain said that since it was a major fire, it took the firemen around four and a half hours to douse the flames. Asked about the loss, the owner said it was a massive lose but the exact number was yet to be ascertained. The situation could have been worse had the fire not been controlled from spreading to other floors, where machinery and other things were kept, he added. Fortunately there was no loss to human lives or any injury. A short circuit could be the cause of the fire, said Jain.
