Inaugural event was held at MGMN Senior Secondary School, Ahmedgarh, where DSP Rajan Sharma interacted with office bearers and activists of the All Bank Retirees Forum led by president KK Bansal. Similar events were held at Sohrab Public Senior Secondary School, Malerkotla, and at government school in Amargarh.

Besides updating the participants about special security plans for elderly persons, DSP Sharma cautioned senior citizens against economic frauds being committed by cyber criminals and advised them to abstain from responding to telephonic calls and requests made through social media.

Senior citizens were persuaded to save telephone numbers of their respective SHOs and beat officers so that they could seek assistance in case of emergency.

Responding to appeals made by some pensioners, DSP Sharma said officials had been directed to treat elderly people as their own family members. He also appealed to the pensioners to contact the police without any hesitation in case of any problem.

Appreciating the concern shown by cops, office-bearers of several outfits working for welfare of senior citizens said the elderly were enthused that their problems would be addressed on priority.
