The Ladhowal police had launched a probe into an incident in which the body of an unknown person was found lying under suspicious circumstances near the Ladhowal Toll Plaza on Friday.

The police are keeping the body at the Civil Hospital’s mortuary for 72 hours with intent to get it identified by general public. The body would then be cremated after a post-mortem.

Duty officer Manjit Singh informed that the body of an unknown person aged between 35-40, was found lying under mysterious circumstances near Ladhowal Toll Plaza at about 11 am on Friday.

It is suspected that he died of drug overdose. The police would take further action if the is identified by someone.
