The Crime Branch, Ludhiana, along with the Koom Kalan police claimed to have nabbed a resident of Chandran village and seized one countrymade .315 bore pistol and a cartridge from his custody. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against him and he had been taken on one-day police remand.

As part of the ongoing crackdown against anti-social elements, the Ludhiana police have succeeded in arresting a man with arms in his possession. He was about to commit some anti-social activity, the investigation stated.

Jagwinder Singh, a security guard and resident of Chandran village, was arrested by the Koom Kalan police on a tip-off, near the Chandran village-Chandigarh road by ASI Baljinder Singh.

Crime branch Ludhiana in-charge Beant Juneja said the culprit was taken into custody on the spot and one countrymade pistol, along with one live cartridge, was recovered from him. A case under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered against him and he was presented before a court. There were chances of further recoveries from the suspect, the in-charge said.
