Man jumps off hospital building, dies

A man ended his life by jumping off the roof of a hospital in Sarabha Nagar here yesterday. He was upset due to his mother’s illness. His father had died around one year ago.

The deceased had divorced his wife seven years ago. He was identified as 35-year-old Harinder Singh. As per information, on Saturday, the man died by suicide by jumping from the roof of a private hospital in Sarabha Nagar. Doctors tried to save the victim but due to serious injuries he could not be saved.

After geting information, the police reached the spot and took the body in their custody and kept it in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital. After autopsy, the body would be handed over to his family.

ASI Gurmel Singh said the deceased, a resident of the Jamalpur area, had been upset due to his mother’s illness. His mother Sukhdev Kaur was admitted to a hospital for the past 10 days due to which the victim was upset. He jumped off the roof of the hospital on Saturday. After the incident, people took him to the emergency ward where he succumbed during treatment.
