The police initiated the operation after receiving a tip-off regarding a significant quantity of liquor being brought into the region from other states. The illicit consignment was reportedly being transported via a link road connecting Aligarh village to the Kotha Khanjuran railway line in two high-end vehicles.

Acting on the tip-off, the police set up a checkpoint near a local private school in Jagraon. When the two vehicles arrived, the police stopped them for checking. During the search, the 480 bottles of illicit liquor were confiscated. Deepak was arrested on the spot.

The police seized both vehicles and are now continuing investigation to determine the origin of the liquor consignment and its intended recipients.
