The Khanna police have arrested Pritpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar, for allegedly firing gunshots at Baldev Singh, when he was travelling in his Toyota Fortuner vehicle in Machhiwara.

On September 30, when Baldev reached near a cold storage, two youths in a Hyundai i20 car came from the rear and the person sitting next to the driver seat fired shots at him, which hit his neck. Both unidentified persons fled the scene. A case was registered at the Machhiwara police station.

Pritpal was arrested in the case. He informed the police that he along with his acquaintances, who were staying abroad, had planned the attack. They wanted to take extortion money from Baldev. Investigation was on in the case.
