Unidentified assailants opened fire at a man in Machhiwara on Thursday night. The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the suspects slowing down their car near the victim before shooting him and fleeing the spot.

The victim, Roshan, said he managed to save his life by running into a nearby house after being shot.

The victim, who works at a salon in the area, sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital.

On receiving information, DSP Khanna Karamjit Singh Grewal and the Machiwara SHO reached the spot.

As per reports, the incident occurred at around 9.30 pm when Roshan was standing on the road. A white car approached him, slowed down, and opened fire. The accused allegedly abused the victim before fleeing from the spot. Both suspects had covered their faces.

He told the police that he had no enmity with anyone.

DSP Grewal said the CCTV footage of the incident has been recovered and is being reviewed.

“The vehicle is being traced. The suspects will be arrested soon. The case is currently blind,” he said.
