Manya Ralhan of Jalandhar and Eshaan Sharma of Gurdaspur overpowered their opponents to emerge the winners in the girls’ and boys’ sections, respectively’ in the Junior (U-19) Punjab State Badminton Tournament that concluded at Shastri Hall, near Guru Nanak Stadium here on Thursday.

In the girls’ singles final, Manya scored an emphatic 21-11, 21-14 win over Gursimrat Kaur of Ludhiana to annex the title and in the boys’ section, Eshaan overpowered Mridul Jha of Jalandhar 21-13, 15-21 and 21-15 to win the winners’ trophy.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
