For issuing no objection certificates (NOC) to aspiring candidates for the Ludhiana West byelection, all four zonal offices/suvidha kendras of the Municipal Corporation (MC) will remain open on Friday (May 30 - a government holiday on account of Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Arjan Dev, Saturday (May 31) and Sunday (June 1).

MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal has issued orders regarding the same and the civic body staff concerned will remain present in the offices during office hours on these days.

Meanwhile, in view of the Ludhiana West byelection and in accordance with the instructions from the Election Commission, a single window system has been implemented in the DC office. Superintendent Grade-2 (Revenue) Vikas Juneja has been assigned the initiative at the district level to provide permissions to political parties and candidates for operating video vans and using non-commercial aircraft and helipads.
