The Municipal Corporation (MC) organised a medical check-up camp for its Class IV employees (sweepers and sewermen) at its sub-office near Middha chowk on Sunday.

Over 500 employees deputed in various zones of the MC were screened for different health-related issues during the camp which was organised under ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign.

The aim was to ensure the well-being and health of sweepers and sewermen, who work tirelessly to ensure cleanliness across the city. More such camps would be organised in the coming days.

The employees were checked for any skin-related diseases, stomach infections, blood pressure and diabetes.

The camp was conducted by Dr Gulshan Rai and Dr Ravi Khera. Vijay Kapoor (pharmacist), Jatinder Pal Singh (pharmacist), Paramjeet Kaur (medical assistant), Harpreet Singh (lab assistant) and community facilitators, among others were also part of the team.

MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal said the civic body was committed for the well-being and safety of its sanitation workers.
