Minor girl kidnapped in Jagraon, one booked

After registering a case, the police initiated a probe to trace the girl. The booked accused was identified as Jashandeep Singh, alias Jass, a resident of Lopo Dala Agwar, Jagraon.
The girl’s mother told the police that her daughter studies in Class 11. She was in depression for the last four months and was scared. When asked the reason, the girl told her mother that while going to and coming back from school, a youth named Jashndeep used to block her way and threatened to take her away. The girl ignored the accused many times, but he kept threatening to take her away from the house. The girl also tried to convince the accused many times, but he did not listen to her repeated pleas.
The complainant said on Saturday evening, her daughter left home on her Activa scooter. She also took Rs 90,000 with her, which was lying in the house. Later, when she didn’t return home, the girl’s family lodged a police complaint.
Investigating officer ASI Kuldeep Singh said the family searched for their daughter, but failed to find her. When no clue was found about the girl, her family filed a complaint with the police, the ASI said. After investigation, the police registered a case against the accused, the ASI added.
