Dachalwal directed civic body officials to regularly check the attendance of Safai Karamcharis and ensure regular lifting of waste. He said cleanliness drives were being organised across the city and no laxity would be tolerated in this regard.

Bagga and Dachalwal also appealed to residents to hand over segregated dry and wet household waste to garbage collectors. They said the civic body was working to improve solid waste management in the city, but this goal cannot be achieved without residents’ support. Residents were also asked to stop dumping waste in open spaces and on vacant plots.
