Giving further impetus to the ongoing plantation movement at Punjab Agricultural University, a plantation drive ‘Wake Up Ludhiana,’ launched by the Deputy Commissioner, Sakshi Sawhney, was organised on the campus.

On the occasion, MLA Gurpreet Gogi, PAU Vice-Chancellor Satbir Singh Gosal and university Registrar Rishi Pal Singh planted ornamental trees — sterculia, kachnar, bottle brush, amaltas, golden rain tree and nili gulmohar.

A former professor and Head of Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, HS Grewal, had donated Rs 50,000 for this plantation drive, which the university used for boundary plantation towards Ferozepur Road.

“PAU has always been conscious about the environment and tirelessly works for the upliftment of the campus surroundings. Maintenance of the Ludhiana campus has been PAU’s forte,” he said.
