MP Sanjeev Arora meets industrialists over development issues
Ludhiana, August 26
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora met local industrialists to discuss Ludhiana’s development issues on the Avon Cycles campus in Ludhiana.
Recognising the challenges posed by poor road conditions and waterlogging, particularly on the narrow Dhandari bridge subway, the MP contacted the Project Director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Ludhiana to impress on the urgent need for repairs. The Project Director told Arora that road repair and fresh drain installation were underway but had been delayed due to the monsoon. However, he assured that the work would be completed by December.
The legislator also met Ludhiana MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, conveying the industrialists’ concerns about sewerage cleanliness. The MC Commissioner said he would address the concerns as soon as possible.
Besides, Arora said he would consult with top traffic police officials to improve traffic management in the city through installation of CCTVs, deployment of traffic personnel and enforcement of penalties to reduce traffic jams.
The meeting was attended by a cohort of industrialists, including Onkar Singh Pahwa, SS Bhogal, Harsimerjit Singh Lucky of Cycle Part Manufacturers, Sanjeev Pahwa of Ralson, Vaneet Sood of Centex, Manjinder S Sachdeva of Citizen Press, Rajinder Jindal of Jindal Fine Industries, representatives from SPS Hospital, Rishi Pahwa, Mandeep Singh Pahwa, Dr Deepak Jain and Aditya Munjal of Hero Cycles Limited. Their collective insights helped shape the regional discourse on infrastructure development and traffic management, Arora added.
