Government Primary School, (GPS), Munidan Kalan, and Jarkhar Academy of Jarkhar village emerged the winners in the girls and boys U-11 category, respectively, in the District-Level Primary Schools Hockey Tournament, organised by the district primary school organising committee at AstroTurf ground of Mata Sahib Kaur Stadium, Jarkhar village near here.

In the girls’ final, GPS Mundian Kalan players warded off stiff challenge from GPS, Akhara near Jagraon, 2-1 to clinch the title. For the winning side, Lovey and Sandhya found the target to seal their opponents’ fate and helped their team lift the winners’ trophy. Principal Pooja Trehan congratulated the students on winning the title.

In the boys’ section, Jarkhar Academy beat Government School, Kila Raipur 5-2 to wrap up the title. Ankush of the winning side was declared the hero of the tournament.
