The complainant accused the SHO of allegedly helping the main accused in the murder case, Jaspreet Singh Jassi Dhatt, by not presenting the chargesheet within the stipulated period whereas the forensic science lab report in connection with the weapon used in the crime was also received within a reasonable period.

Sources at the police station revealed that the alleged negligence on part of the SHO had facilitated release of Dhatt from judicial remand on bail.

Irritated over the release of the main accused on bail, the deceased’s family approached the SSP Ludhiana (Rural) and threatened to seek intervention of higher court of law for seeking action against the alleged negligence in the matter.
