The event, organised by the Punjab School Education Board, was held at Guru Nanak Stadium and witnessed participation from schools across the state.
Adding to the pride, three players from the NSPS have now been selected to represent Punjab at the forthcoming National-Level Basketball Tournament. The talented trio includes Armaan Sharma Prabhjot Singh (1) and Prabhjot Singh (2), whose consistent performance and determination on the court impressed selectors.
The achievement has sparked celebrations within the school community. Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich congratulated the team, emphasising that their success reflected the values of discipline and perseverance instilled at the NSPS. “This victory is not just about winning a medal, it is about proving that hard work, teamwork and resilience always pay off. Our players have shown that with dedication, even challenges can be turned into opportunities. We are proud to see them carry the school’s name to the national stage,” she said.
The players themselves expressed excitement and gratitude. Armaan shared his thoughts: “Playing at the state level was already a big moment for us, but being chosen for the nationals feels like a dream come true. We practiced tirelessly, often staying back after school hours, and this selection motivates us to aim even higher. We want to make our school and Punjab proud.”
The tournament at the Guru Nanak Stadium was marked by intense competition, with teams showcasing skill, speed and strategy. The NSPS’s journey to the podium was highlighted by close matches and a fighting spirit that won admiration from spectators.
As the players prepare for the national-level tournament, the school community stands firmly behind them, confident that their grit and passion will shine through. “Their success story is a reminder that sports not only build physical strength, but also nurture character, leadership and unity,” added the physical training in charge of the school.
