NCC cadets take part in mock drills across region

A mock drill was conducted for NCC cadets at the Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, for safety during emergency situations. A total of 60 cadets from various institutions participated in the drill, conducted as per the directions of Lieutenant Colonel Faizan Zahoor, Commanding Officer of 19 Punjab Battalion, NCC, Ludhiana.

Naib Subedar Gurcharan Singh and CHM Gurwinder Singh taught the cadets how to stay safe in open plains and residential buildings during disasters. They also asked the cadets to ensure their own safety as well as of those who may be caught unaware. The subedars performed practical drills with the cadets.

“The most important duty of an NCC cadet in demanding times is to act and perform with agility and make sure that they put their best in the service of civilians. The duty of a cadet is to put service before self and save as many lives as possible,” shared the subedars during training.

Apart from this, the cadets were also given information about fire-fighting.

Ludhiana: A mock drill on preparedness in case of an attack was conducted by 3 Punjab Girls Battalion across 20 educational institutes. The event witnessed active participation from senior officers, NCC cadets and students who came together to understand and rehearse emergency response protocols.

The drill aimed at educating young minds about effective response mechanisms during natural and man-made disasters. The exercise was carried out through various interactive mediums including banners, PowerPoint presentations, live demonstrations, videos and informative charts. These tools helped provide visual and practical understanding of the procedures to be followed during emergency situations.

Staff from the unit visited institutions and monitored the activities of the students and staff. Their presence served to motivate the cadets and reinforce the importance of readiness and discipline in such critical scenarios.
