Open waste dumping: MC officials inspect site around static compactor

After Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar raised concern over open dumping of garbage around the static compactor site near Pavilion Mall, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Deputy Mayor Prince Johar and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, along with the Senior Deputy Mayor, conducted an inspection at the site on Monday.

Civic body teams are already working to clear garbage from the site. Necessary directions have been issued to the staff to expedite the process and ensure that there should be no open dumping of garbage at the site again.

Corporation Sanitation Officer (CSO) Ashwani Sahota and Health Officer Vipal Malhotra were among other officials present during the inspection.

The Senior Deputy Mayor said earlier in the last week of October, they had received complaints against open dumping of garbage and of a few mischievous residents burning waste outside the compactor site. Following which, civic body officials were directed to remove waste and take action against the violators.
