World Glaucoma Week, a global initiative by the World Glaucoma Association (WGA), is observed annually from March 9 to 16 to raise awareness about glaucoma. This week aims to encourage people worldwide to undergo regular eye and optic nerve checks to detect glaucoma early and preserve sight. The theme for Glaucoma Awareness Week (GAW) 2025 is “Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World.”

The Ludhiana Ophthalmological Society (LOS) organised a Glaucoma Awareness Walk for the residents of the city. Prominent eye surgeons from the city, including Dr B S Rana (president, LOS), Dr Nitin Batra (Chairman, Scientific Committee), Dr Rajinder Singh, Dr G S Dhami, Dr Gurvinder Kaur, Dr Shaffie Baidwal, Dr Abhinav Dhami, and Dr Samson Rajpal, participated in the event.
