The students of Orient International School and Sports Academy, Machhiwara Sahib, made their presence felt by securing various positions in different sports disciplines in the Samrala Zonal-Level Competitions, organised by the Punjab Education Department.

In karate, the boys of the school bagged five gold and three silver medals in different age categories, and in cricket, they secured the silver medal in the U-19 section. In the girls’ section, the students won four gold, two silver and one bronze medals in karate.

In chess, girls (U-14) finished first runners-up to clinch silver medal. In handball, boys annexed bronze medal in U-17 group and girls secured the silver medal in the U-19 section. In kabaddi (boys U-19), they won silver medal, secured gold medal in table tennis (girls U-14), five gold medals in freestyle wrestling (boys U-14, 17 and 19) and the bronze medal in basketball (girls U-19).
