The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) is facing criticism from school administrators and students over the release of compartment exam forms during holidays and the repeated imposition of certificate fees.

The board had announced that students could submit their compartment exam forms without late fees between October 17 and 25. However, technical glitches and holiday closures severely affected the process.

According to the school authorities, the official website remained non-functional till October 18 and the subsequent days — October 19 to 23 — coincided with major festival holidays.

As a result, many students were unaware of the schedule and were left with only two working days, October 24 and 25, to complete the form submission. School representatives argue that this narrow window was insufficient, leading to many students missing the deadline.

Adding to the frustration, the Punjab School Association has raised concerns over the board charging certificate fee for the third time. Students were previously charged during the final exams in March and again during the first compartment exams in July. Now, with the second round of compartment exams, the fee has been levied once more — though students who fail did not receive physical certificates and can only access their results online.

The association has demanded that the board should extend the deadline for form submission without late fees by 15 days.
