Over 170 participants from across the state vied for top honours at the 2nd Punjab State Pickleball Championship, held here at GRD Academy ground on Hambran Road. The two-day championship witnessed enthusiastic and high-quality performances.

Harsimerjit Singh, a local industrialist and sports promoter, inaugurated the championship while Sonia Alag and Vikramjit Singh, joint secretary and general secretary, respectively, of Punjab Pickleball Association were the guests of honour at the event. Office-bearers of the Ludhiana District Pickleball Association were also present on the occasion.

In the boys U-14 singles category, Angad secured the first position, followed by Bilawal in the second and Radhesh in the third. In the U-14 doubles, Radhesh and Naman claimed the first place, Angad and Gurpreet stood second, while Hardik and Dakshveer took the third place.

In the boys U-16 singles, Ashish emerged as the winner, with Shaurya in the second and Vivaj in the third. For doubles, Vatsal and Namish bagged the first position, Vaibhav and Shaurya came second, and Taamish and Ryan finished third.

In the boys U-19 singles, Ashish again clinched the top spot. He was followed by Pranav and Manvir in the second and third places, respectively.

In the men's singles, Maehav Sharma secured the top spot, followed by Sehajpreet Singh coming in second and Raghav Singla third. In the doubles category, Akshat Sharma and Yuvraj Bhardwaj took the first place, Madhav Sharma and Sehajpreet Singh came second, while Pranav and Ashish finished third.

Among the girls, in U-14 singles, Aadya stood first, Aishley second and Navreet third. Aishley and Asees won in the doubles category and were followed by Aadya and Trinav.

In the U-16 singles, Stuti won the first place, followed by Aadi in second and Angel in the third. In the doubles event, Stuti and Aadi emerged victorious, Amiti and Sanya came second, and Asees and Jasleen finished third.

In women's singles, Aadi claimed the first position, Sumidha took the second and the third position was shared by Angel and Sanya.
