Thieves broke in but the shop owner forced them to flee the scene. People gathered at the scene informed the police.
Two months ago, a theft of valuables and cash worth Rs 11 lakh had occurred at the shop. This time, fortunately the owner, Abhishek Soni, was sleeping inside the shop, risking his life to prevent any theft.
He alleged that he filed an FIR after the previous incident but the police failed to crack the case. He said he was scared since the previous theft due to which he had been sleeping inside the shop for almost a month. Around 3:30 am on Monday, he heard a strange rattling sound.
“I started screaming, after which, the miscreants fled the shop. When I looked outside, I saw three or four persons were trying to escape from the rooftop,” the owner said.
