Professor Chauhan provided an in-depth exploration of the biological aspects of weeds and how this knowledge was essential for developing effective weed management approaches. He emphasised on the importance of studying the reproductive mechanisms, growth patterns, and ecological interactions of weeds to create targeted strategies for controlling their spread. He also discussed how weeds adapted to different environments and their ability to evolve resistance to herbicides, stressing the need for integrated weed management. Through his expert insights, Prof Chauhan highlighted the importance of weed biology for addressing the challenges faced by modern agriculture and ensuring sustainable weed management. The talk was succeeded by an interactive session in which Prof Chauhan responded to the queries about practical challenges in weed management.
