To mark the commencement of the New year, the Municipal Corporation organised ‘Sukhmani Sahib path’ at its Zone A office near Mata Rani Chowk on Thursday.

The ‘samagam’ was organised by Municipal Employees’ Sangharsh Committee, wherein senior officials and staffers of the civic body and paid obeisance to Guru Granth Sahib and prayed for the betterment of the society at large.

Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu, MC Joint Commissioner Ankur Mahindroo, Joint Commissioners Abhishek Sharma and Chetan Bunger, Assistant Commissioners Neeraj Jain, Gurpal Singh and Jasdev Singh Sekhon, newly elected councillors and leaders of different political parties among others also participated in the ‘samagam’.

Chairman of Municipal Employees Sangharsh Committee Ashwani Sahota and president Jasdev Singh Sekhon said the ‘paath’ was organised every year by the employees’ union on the commencement of New Year and the aim was to pray for the betterment of society. ‘Langar’ was also served to attendees.
